#Film Review: Deadpool and Wolverine

Director: Shawn Levy

I watched Deadpool and Wolverine as soon as it came out, but the review is delayed so there are plenty of reviews already. Anyway, my take? It was fun and exactly what you expect of this film and Ryan Reynolds was as brilliant as you expect him to be.

In this instalment of the Deadpool and Wolverine, the actual story is slightly missing and at times, it is difficult to follow. But, this is compensated with plenty of humour, fighting and F-word moments, which are excessive since this is technically a Marvel/Disney film, but rated R.

Deadpool and Wolverine are centred on a story when the Time Variance Authority tells Deadpool that the multiverse needs safeguarding and recruits him to help in that endeavour. He united with Wolverine to complete the mission and save the world, and there is plenty of multiverse travel and fighting that comes because of it, which makes the film compelling for those who love a good fight albeit it is mainly humour and references to other films that makes this film interesting and enjoyable. Deadpool and Wolverine (2024) come after Deadpool (2016), Deadpool 2 (2018) and Logan (2017), which are essential viewings before watching this film, but it is also useful to watch the Disney series Loki (2021-2023) as well as a whole series of Marvel films such as X Men (2000, 2003), and Doctor Strange films (see my review here).

However, the film can be watched on its own as it is made as a prequel, but it will be much harder to follow the story and jokes unless one watches previous films.
